Our Story

Family-Run. 15 Years. One Standard.

The Founder

15 Years. One Standard.

“I've always been fascinated by trained dogs, especially working dogs. The protection side is very much switching the dog from protection to obedience — having the ultimate control. With my dogs I could tell them to bark and bite, but a second later you could fuss them. That's the type of dog that makes the perfect family protection dog.”

Tom began his journey in IGP — Internationaler Gebrauchshund Prüfungsordnung — a rigorous three-discipline sport combining tracking, obedience, and protection. This is not recreational dog training. It is precision work at the highest level.

Tom and his wife have trained in IGP to the highest standard. They run their own dog boarding kennels. Between them, they have professionally trained thousands of pet dogs over five years of practice.

The Sport

What Is IGP — and Why Does It Matter?

IGP (Internationaler Gebrauchshund Prüfungsordnung) is the international working dog sport that combines three disciplines: tracking, obedience, and protection. It requires an extraordinary level of consistency, timing, and deep understanding of dog psychology.

The protection phase in IGP is specifically about control. Training the dog to switch instantly between full protection mode and complete calm on a single command. This is not about aggression — it is about precision. The same dog that bites on command will sit calmly with your family one second later.

Tom and his wife have trained in this sport to the highest standard. That background is not a credential on a wall. It is the foundation of every training decision they make with your dog.

“A lot of this is genetic and the training is polishing it up. You need an environmentally sound dog that in any normal life situation is stable and calm, social and can be taken anywhere — but also has that switch. On command, on and off.”

Our Model

Why We Work Differently

The two dominant players in the UK protection dog industry operate similarly: 40 or more dogs in kennels at any one time, multiple trainers handling the same dog, commercial pressure to move animals on. That model produces inconsistency. It can also produce a dog that has been sold to a client who was not the right match for it.

“We will only ever have a small, strictly limited number of dogs in training — only myself and my wife handling them — so we can ensure consistency. This takes the pressure off us to sell a dog that isn't right for the client. If what we have isn't suitable, we source the correct dog and train it.”

Strictly Limited Capacity

We never have more dogs than we can train to our standard. This is a deliberate choice, not a capacity constraint.

One Home

Every dog lives in our home during training. Not in kennels. Raised as a family dog while being trained as a protection dog.

Two Handlers Only

Tom and his wife. That is it. Consistency is not a marketing line — it is our operating model.

Sourced for You

We do not have stock to move. We find the right dog for each client. If it does not exist yet, we source and train it.
